Privacy Policy.

1. Who we are

TARGO Logistics ("TARGO", "we", "us") coordinates a network of truck owners across Southern Africa, matching cargo to capacity. This privacy policy explains how we handle personal information when you visit targologistics.co.za, contact us, request a quote or ask for compliance documents. It is written to comply with South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and, for visitors from the EU or UK, the UK/EU GDPR.

You can reach us at info@targologistics.co.za or +27 72 466 8071, or by post at Floor 1, 78 Corlett Drive, Melrose North, Johannesburg, 2196, South Africa.

2. Information we collect

Contact form. When you send us a message we collect your name, email address, enquiry type, subject and message, plus your company name and phone number if you provide them.

Quote form. When you request a quote or apply to join the network we collect your contact details and the details of the load or fleet you describe — route (from/to), cargo type, tonnage and anything else you tell us.

Compliance document requests. When you request a document (for example a B-BBEE certificate or insurance schedule) we collect your email address, company name and which documents you asked for.

Website analytics. With your consent where it is required, we use Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity to understand how the site is used. They collect things like pages viewed, time on page, device and browser type, approximate location derived from your IP address, and — in Clarity's case — anonymised session replays of how the page was interacted with. We never send your name, email address or message content to these tools.

Cookie consent record. Your accept/reject choice is stored in your own browser (localStorage) so we don't have to ask again. It stays on your device.

3. How we use your information

  • To respond to your enquiry and quote your load.
  • To send you the compliance documents you requested.
  • To operate and improve the website — for example, seeing which pages are useful and where people get stuck.
  • To understand where visitors come from (search, social, referral or direct) so we can invest in the right channels.

We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling.

4. Legal grounds for processing

Under POPIA we process personal information on the grounds of your consent, our legitimate business interest, or because it is necessary to perform a contract with you (for example, quoting and hauling your load). For visitors from the EU or UK: marketing and analytics cookies are set only with your consent, and everything else relies on our legitimate interest in running and improving the website.

5. Cookies and analytics

This site uses a small number of functional cookies (and similar browser storage) to work properly, plus marketing/analytics cookies from Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to measure how the site is used.

If you visit from a region where analytics cookies legally require prior consent — such as the EU, UK or South Africa — a banner appears on your first visit. You can accept or reject, with both buttons carrying equal weight. If you reject, Google Analytics and Clarity stay completely off. You can change your mind at any time using the "Cookie settings" link in the footer of every page, which reopens the banner and lets you withdraw consent. Outside those regions the tools load immediately; you can still switch them off via the same link.

6. Who we share your information with

Your information is shared only with the service providers that help us run this website and our business:

  • Our hosting and form-delivery providers, so we receive and reply to your enquiries.
  • Google (Google Analytics) and Microsoft (Clarity), as analytics processors — only when you have consented.
  • Professional advisers where needed (for example insurers, when quoting Goods-in-Transit cover).

We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect our legal rights.

7. International transfers

Our website, email delivery and analytics providers may process data outside South Africa. Where that happens, we rely on the safeguards those providers put in place under their own privacy obligations to keep your information protected.

8. How long we keep it

We keep enquiry and quote information only as long as needed to handle it and any follow-up business that comes from it. Analytics data is kept for the period configured in the respective tools. Your cookie consent choice stays in your browser until you clear it via "Cookie settings" or your browser storage.

9. Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Ask whether we hold personal information about you and get a copy of it.
  • Ask us to correct or delete it.
  • Object to us processing it, or withdraw consent (for example for analytics cookies).
  • Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa if you are unhappy with how we have handled your information.

EU/UK visitors have the equivalent GDPR rights, including data portability and the right to complain to their local supervisory authority. To exercise any of these rights, email info@targologistics.co.za — we will come back to you within a reasonable time.

10. Third-party links

Our site links to WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn. Those platforms have their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to read them — this policy doesn't cover what they do with your information.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date.
